A very impressive nose of wild fruit and blackberry, some gamey notes along with a hint of toastiness. On the palate it is very smooth, well balanced with a lovely velvety freshness.
Volnay, Michel Lafarge 2001 (France)
This is beautifully perfumed Burgundy produced by the ex mayor of Volnay from a selection of vineyards within Volnay. The soft red fruit is delicious while the fine tannins add an elegant structure and balance.
