Just Good Food work closely with our main suppliers with an aim to source and increase the availability of local produce, (where seasonality allows), in order to reduce the negative impacts on the environment, by making the distance that food travels from farm to plate, far shorter.
It should be noted that our 3 main suppliers of fish, meat and fruit and vegetables are all located in Birmingham’s Wholesale Markets.
Our fruit and vegetable supplier source locally wherever possible. Our fresh meat is all British and meets the high standards of food safety and hygiene, animal welfare and environmental protection. It has Farm Assured status and is also fully traceable.
We use free range eggs wherever possible.
Where we can, we aim to support the British fishing industry. We try to make sure that the products we are sourcing do not deplete over fished stocks and are caught using methods which do not negatively impact on other species or habitats.
When we use farmed fish, we ensure that it is from a sustainable source and is not from a badly managed or unregulated fishery. We aim to ensure the environment it comes from meets the high welfare standards required relating to habitat protection and impact on production.
Just Good Food is committed to constantly monitoring and reviewing this policy and striving towards reducing our shared social and environmental impacts in order to provide our clients with products they can trust.
